About this station

Anchor Point is one of NOAA's reference tide stations — its predictions are computed directly from harmonic analysis of water levels observed here, and other nearby stations are calculated from it.

Upper Cook Inlet has some of the largest tides on Earth — ranges past 30 ft, powerful rips, and bore tides on Turnagain Arm. Winter ice can push actual water levels well off the predictions.
